Curry And Spice products are a labor of love.
This love story started many years ago in 1985 when Irene
met Ron on the golden beaches of Goa, India. Irene had just
graduated from University of Bombay, and was in Goa on a short
vacation. Ron was visiting his parents in Goa for the first
time since he left home in 1972. Ron, born in Uganda to Indian
parents had immigrated to Charlottesville, Virginia, in the
United States at the tender age of 11. Irene was born and
raised in Bombay.
It was
love at first sight! Irene married Ron a year later and moved
to Charlottesville. Irene fell in love with this beautiful
city and called it home. Irene went to nursing school and
worked at the University of Virginia. Ron managed real estate.
A beautiful child Ashley is the apple of their eye.
Over the years, they were always passionate about cooking,
trying to re-create the tasty food they grew up with. Many
evenings after a long days work, Irene would want to cook
traditional Indian food. She used her mother's recipes to
make curries. She would make extra sauce and save it in the
refrigerator for the next days meal. It worked out great.
The next day dinner would be ready in minutes. One day she
decided to bottle this curry and the idea. The rest is history!
Now she shares this labor of love with the rest of the world!
